I began natural dyeing about 25 years ago, during Waldorf Teacher Training (I am a preschool teacher). Since that time I have experimented with many different fibers, fabrics, and natural dyes.

Integral to the process is an inevitable variation in color and hue that comes with using natural materials. This result is actually very fascinating, as in some sense every piece is one-of-a-kind.

Recently I have been working with botanical printing, wherein leaves, flowers and other plant parts are used to directly print to fabrics. Due to the wide array of available plants, there is an infinite possibility in design.
